Carla Heiney (USA) | |||
Carla has a down to earth teaching approach, but still takes learning seriously and focuses heavily on quality of movement, partner connection, musicality, and most importantly, enjoying the dance! She searches for that fine balance of staying connected to the roots of the dance, where it came from and why, while still pushing the envelope of where the dance can go. Carla brings with her a vast amount of teaching experience, many many lindy hop championship titles and has even been nominated for the swing dance hall of fame. She currently teaches, choreographs, judges, competes, & social dances all over the world & feels very fortunate to be able to do what she loves most. |

to teach ideas, rhythms and moves that are fun, edifying, and adjustable
to each dancer's needs. Like his dancing, Stefan's teaching is crammed

Bethany Powell (USA) | |||
Bethany
Powell spent most of her formative lindy-hop years in Portland, Oregon
and more recently in Washington DC. Her quirky and adorable style turns
everyone's heads and makes her a favorite on the dance floor both socially
and competitively. She has a unique teaching style that is so refreshing
for all her students. She admires dancing that embraces physical forces
(gravity, momentum, inertia) instead of fighting them, and she emphasizes
this approach, simultaneously laid-back and powerful, in her classes.
As a child, Bethany was school champion at the three-legged-race which
will certainly give her an advantage in the famous HS Highland Games. |
